Nucleotide Databases - Exercise 1
GenBank, EMBL and DDBJ are the most frequently used databases for nucleotide and protein sequences.
  1. Use the NCBI server to get the mouse leptin nucleotide sequence from Exercise 1 of the Bibliograhic Databases section. Make sure you get the sequence from the original paper.
  2. What is the basic structure of a GenBank entry?
  3. Check out which other formats are also available.
  4. The leptin entry was replaced on March 30, 1995, why? Can you find the sequence that was published together with the Nature article from Dec 1, 1994?
